I am working with Professor Hiroki Ueda of The University of Tokyo School of Medicine and Professor Masaru Sugiyama, Faculty of Science, The University of Tokyo on a research project on disease mechanisms of mental disorders in general. We are conducting our research using very new methods (details undisclosed).
I was awarded a research grant from the University of Tokyo and the Toyota Mobility Fund for this research activity, which is funded for about three years.
I have been working with Professor Hiromitsu Miyata of the Graduate School of Letters, Waseda University, on the effects of mindfulness practice combined with virtual reality and binaural beats on obsessive-compulsive disorder tendencies.
This research is also regularly advised by Mr. Tsubasa Sasaki of Chiba University.
Professor Hiromitsu Miyata and I received the Best Presenter Award in the Student Research Presentation at the 88th Annual Convention of the Japanese Psychological Association for this research.
I am conducting a research project with Professor Kentaka Aruga Kentaka of the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Saitama University on the comparison of consumer behavior in fortune telling and mental health.
I was awarded a research grant from IHRP for this research activity.
With the help of the Suetsugu Laboratory at Rikkyo University, my friends and I researched natto kinase. We conducted synthetic biology wet/dry research, experimental classes throughout Japan, and interviews with many researchers and companies.
We obtained research grants from about 10 companies totaling about 2 million yen ($15,000) and crowdfunding for 800,000 yen ($6,000).
We gave poster and oral presentations at the 47th Annual Convention of the Molecular Biology Society of Japan.
With the cooperation of Osaka University, we are striving to bring innovation to the caregiving industry.
We will showcase this project at EXPO 2025 Osaka, Kansai.

My friends and I created “StudyPet”, an AI app for learning aids, at “Launch III”, a global hackathon. The app won an award for excellence.
I built a pneumonia detection system using machine learning with PhD students at MIT and Stanford University.
We are hosting a major hackathon, ‘Demoday’, designed for Japanese student founders, with the goal of bringing student founders from around the world to Japan and providing Japanese students with a global stage.
We welcome the participation of venture capitalists and startups.
The first Demoday will be held in March 2025 at Digital Garage Akiya.
I founded LocalHost Japan, Japan’s first student-led venture capital, managing a total fund of 30 million yen, and serve as a General Partner. We provide travel grants, coworking spaces, startup funding, and software resources. Additionally, we host hackathons and ideathons. Our investors include figures such as Joi Ito, former director of the MIT Media Lab.
We are hosting an ideathon with a total prize pool of 2.5 million yen.

I hosted an information session about Stanford e-Japan, Stanford University's high school student program. I invited several scholars of the program as guest speakers, and dozens of people attended the event.
okke is a complete learning application for Japanese high school students. It includes a vocabulary book, lecture videos, articles, etc. I have handed out free-per-papers to schools and other institutions as publicity for this app.
